Light a Candle for the Beast. by Echo Shea.
My Rating: 5 out 6 stars
Echo Shea's Light a Candle for the Beast is a fabulous spin on the Beauty and the Beast tale. It revives the original warning nature of many fairytales, which is refreshing and irresistible. If I can't have my happily-ever-after romances, this is my next preference: lost souls struggling to find their way back to the light, and where those who deserve it get their comeuppances even if sometimes the good guy gets tarnished in the process.
I give this story a 5 of 6 stars because while I revere Echo's description and where she takes us with the story, I would have liked to dig deeper into Eden's mind on how she arrived at the decision to release the Beast and how she felt about the decision. But in this short format, it is a wonderful morsel of myth and wonder. Thanks again for a great read, Echo!
